Action Camera Nerd is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases — that is, if you follow one of our links to Amazon and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale, and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway.
Two things worth being precise about, because "may earn" is doing real work in that sentence:
- We are in the programme, and our Associates tag is live. Any link on this site that goes to Amazon carries it. That is what makes a purchase qualifying, and it is why the statement above appears on every page.
- Most of the links on this site do not go to Amazon. Our product links currently point where the review says they point — usually Insta360's own store, and in some cases B&H. Where a link goes somewhere other than Amazon, no Amazon commission arises from it.
If that balance changes, this page changes with it on the same day.
How affiliate links work when they are in use
Some links become affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go to the retailer directly.
Affiliate links appear in predictable places: inside product reviews, in comparison tables, in "check price" buttons and in some buying-guide recommendations. They are labelled, and they are placed where we would have mentioned the product anyway.
Every click-out carries rel="sponsored nofollow" and opens in a new tab.
Which programmes we participate in
- Amazon Associates — our primary programme, covering cameras, accessories, mounts and memory cards. The required statement appears in the site footer and in the bar at the top of every page.
- Manufacturer programmes — occasionally used where a brand offers a direct affiliate channel.
We do not run display advertising. There are no ad slots anywhere on this site, and no advertising network is loaded on any page.
Our commitment to independence
Affiliate relationships do not change a score. Concretely:
- Every camera on this site was bought at retail with our own money. If a unit is ever loaned — rare — the review says so at the top.
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews, and we do not accept free review units as a condition of coverage.
- The scoring rubric is fixed. The same five weights apply to every camera, so scores are directly comparable and cannot be quietly adjusted for a better-paying product.
- Where a competing camera wins a criterion, we name it and say by how much.
Your choices
